id you know that the Twin Towers were the tallest towers in the world? An American historic
site that everyone should visit is the 9/11 Memorial Museum (World Trade Center History),
because they have a museum. In the museum, they give you a self-guided tour. People travel from
all over the world to visit this site because it represents the unity of our country and a day that
Americans should never forget.
When you are on the tour, there are different rooms you can go into. A room that you can visit is
one where you look at all of the pictures of the people who died such as firefighters, people in the
plane, and people in both of the towers. Also, there is a slideshow running in another room that
you can visit. In this room, there is a speaker and you can hear people saying “Goodbye, tell the
kids I love them” and other audio sounds of peoples’ last words to their loved ones. Thousands of
people helped with the slideshow, by offering personal pictures and audio clips that would help the
museum honor the heroes, victims and survivors of this tragic day in our history.
The museum stands where the World Trade Center and Twin Towers used to be. Something
else you can do at the museum is watch a slideshow. There are artifacts throughout the museum
on display with captions that explain each item’s connection to the attack. Artifacts from the Twin
Towers are authentic because these artifacts are from the wreckage and debris from the towers. They
include a fire engine, “missing person” posters, and momentos of the victims. People living near the
Twin Towers also suffered injuries and have lasting health problems years later.
One other thing that a person can experience is the “Survivor Tree”. This tree was badly damaged
in the attack on the Twin Towers. It was decided that people would try to save it and nourish it back
to life by replanting it at the site of the World Trade Center. The tree gives hope to people because it
symbolizes strength. It is also a symbol of new life in a place that experienced so much destruction.
In conclusion, the World Trade Center Museum would be a good place to visit. It offers a place
where families can remember their loved ones. It also offers an educational experience for all ages.
Although pictures and sound can be very graphic and disturbing, the attack was a big event in our
history. It has changed our lives forever.
