MORGAN HILL CELEBRATES AMERICA ’ S 245 th BIRTHDAY
Welcome to Morgan Hill ’ s celebration of our country ’ s birthday . As we celebrate our country ’ s 245th birthday , we also want to celebrate our community ’ s resilience , support , and strength . We want to celebrate and recognize all of the heroes in our community . We thank all of the neighbors who checked in on each other , helped get groceries for others , shared information with those who may not have had access , and kept an eye on each other . We thank all those in the community who stood up for others , spoke out against violence and hate , and showed us all that love and kindness are the way forward .
As we begin our path to normal , I can ’ t help but feel excited and optimistic and look forward to celebrating with my family , friends , and neighbors in whatever safe way that we can . This year ’ s celebrations will be extra special because our community is so special .
The Freedom Fest two-day celebration kicks off with children from the community singing their hearts out at the Downtown Amphitheatre on Saturday , July 3rd . The Family Music Fest , later that evening , has music and entertainment for all ages . On Sunday , July 4th , rise early to run the 5K . Your kids can also run a mile course on the parade route . The Classic Car Cruise sets the stage for the Parade later in the morning , and a spectacular Fireworks Show at sunset caps off the day at the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center !
While visiting Morgan Hill , I hope you will enjoy the many award-winning wineries , pick-your-own farms , boutique retail shops , and fabulous restaurants .
We genuinely appreciate the entirely volunteer IDC team that produces the Freedom Fest events . They are easy to recognize in their bright red shirts , so please thank them and consider donating to help offset these events ’ sizable costs .
