EVERYONE KNOWS HOW important healthy eating is , but putting those ideas into practice is another matter entirely . Getting rid of bad habits can be tough , and sometimes picking the healthier option can seem like so much hassle .
The good news is that healthy eating doesn ’ t have to be painful . Here are a few ideas about how to make healthy eating a regular thing without too much effort .
START YOUR DAY WITH A PROTEIN KICK You may have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day , but a large number of people choose to skip it anyway . However , if you can start out your day in the right way , you ’ ll soon discover the benefits .
Protein doesn ’ t just provide energy to your muscles . It helps to keep you feeling full , so it ’ s a great way to keep those irritating hunger pangs at bay . Protein can also raise your metabolism by as much as a third for up to 12 hours at a time compared to the carbohydrate equivalent .
A protein-rich breakfast will stop those midmorning cravings for biscuits and sugary snacks and leave you feeling full and satisfied until it ’ s time for lunch .
CARRY SNACKS No matter how well-intentioned you may be , when hunger strikes and there ’ s no healthy food in sight , you ’ re far more likely to give in to temptation . If you ’ re pushed for time or know you ’ ll be tired when you get home from work , plan ahead so you aren ’ t tempted to just give in . You could chop your veggies for several days in advance and put them in
Tupperware containers in the fridge , or alternatively , just buy bags of prepared veggies . This obviously won ’ t be quite as economical as chopping up the vegetables yourself , but it ’ s a good alternative that ensures you will still eat well .
