God longs for relationships and communication with His people. God is a spirit and He communicates with our spirits, ‘expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words’. God is saying so much to everybody and yet very few understand what they hear. We need understanding because His Spirit will be poured out on all flesh in this end time. To understand we need to interpret what we receive from God. Interpretation is a by-product of valued relationship with God. The Holy Spirit helps us to drawn from the reservoir of God’s word. The word of God is an incredible revelatory wellspring and biblical examples are meant to assist us in understanding the various forms of spiritual communication from God.
The book of Job 33:14 says, “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not”. The word ‘perceive’ means to achieve understanding of or to apprehend. This is the focus if this article that not only the prophets but also all the saints of God might come to correctly perceive what God is saying to them like in the days of the Acts of the Apostles.
‘Daniel 1:17 anointing’
It is time to pray for ‘Daniel 1:17 anointing’ to upon us. This is what it says; “To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds”. Could you pulse for a moment and ask God for this anointing, (I feel the hand of God right now) as I agree with you that it shall be granted onto you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
All revelations need some form of interpretation. There are four levels of interpretation: • Literal – according to the exact meaning • Allegorical – using one thing to represent another • Philosophical – rational or logical deduction from
the revelation • Hidden – beyond the limits of
natural wisdom All four levels of interpretation may be applied to a revelation.
The Lord utilises very individualistic forms in communicating with us as individuals. These individualistic forms are usually taken from life experiences, biblical examples, personal trait and attributes specific to us. God also use events in our lives that no one knows but Him and He will sometimes incorporate them in His communications.
Cultivate the practice of broad principles of interpretation, which is better than the narrow application of types and symbols, as many are the habit of doing. The fact that you received a revelation does not automatically entitle you to the interpretation (Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.) Interpretation is a gift and comes by the Holy Spirit.
Avoid assumption. Allow only logical deduction from what was received. Deut. 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord, but things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever—”. Assumption adds to what was revealed and that confuses the picture.
Do not get fixed on the meaning of symbols as they may change as you grow in your walk with God. As you study the word of God, you will draw less and less from your life experience and more and more from the biblical examples. A symbol is when God uses one thing to represent another in His communication with us.
Revelatory giftedness is the potential or the capability to receive revelations. Revelation itself is not a gift; it is a by-product of your intimacy with God. Psalm 25:14: The Lord confides in those who fear Him and makes His covenant known to them.
