Lt . Matthew Eric Dow , 50 , of Fayetteville passed away Friday , October 1 , 2021 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn . Eric was born April 17 , 1971 in Cumberland County . He was preceded in death by his sisters , Stephanie and Charity Dow . He was a Lieutenant on the Fayetteville Police Department and loved the law enforcement community . Eric enjoyed restoring cars , homes , and helping people . Eric is survived by his father , Matthew Steele Dow ; mother , Carol Ann Thomas ; sons , Noah & Ian Dow ; former wife , Samantha Dow ; sister , Wendy Dow Wiggins ; fiancée , Kim Burns ; brothers , Chris York and Chuck Dow .
