Bjarte Bjørkum er den norske vinneren av EISA Maestro
Tema for årets internasjonale fotokonkurranse i regi av EISA – Expert Imaging and Sound Association – er « Joy », eller Glede .
I år er det 40 år siden EISA ble grunnlagt , og det var med « Årets kamera » den spede starten kom i 1982 . Fotografi har alltid vært en bærebjelke for EISA-organisasjonen . Hvert år deltar leserne i
papir- og digitalmagasiner fra hele verden i konkurransen gjennom sine respektive lands fotomagasiner . I Norge er det Fotomag som arrangerer den nasjonale delen av EISA Maestro-konkurransen . I år pekte Bjarte Bjørkums serie seg ut blant bidragene , og er av Fotomag-redaksjonen kåret til nasjonal vinner og dermed som bidrag til den internasjonale EISA Maestro-finalen , med mulighet til å vinne ett av de gjeve EISA Maestro-trofeene .
Bjarte Bjørkum er født i Skedsmo i 1967 , og vokste mer eller mindre opp på Vestlandet . Periodevis har han bodd i Oslo og Stockholm . Bor i dag en skråning i Bergen hvor uglene tuter og hjorten gauler .
– Jeg har drevet med fotografering siden begynnelsen av 20-årene . Først da jeg var 27 begynte jeg å forstå hvordan jeg skulle drive med det . Da kom jeg også inn på den fotoutdannelsen som gjorde meg til den jeg er i dag . Fotograferingen min er et livsprosjekt , og jeg kan ikke si at det går et skarpt skille mellom kunstfotografering og familiefotografering . Man fotograferer best det man har et nært forhold til som menneske . Men for å klare det er man nødt til å erkjenne det , og ikke minst erkjenne at det ligger en stor verdi i det .
15 . august kåres de internasjonale vinnerne og publiseres i 17 EISA fotomagasiner i Europa , India og USA .
