Once again the Groms kicked things off. With the overall titles
and prizes including the sought after Liquid Force Pro Model
Wakeskate hinged on their ride, they stepped up to the mark,
laying down 5’s, tantrums and taking their tricks out into the
flats. Angus Grey was the standout Grommie of the day, taking home the win. Next up was the Ronix sponsored Womens
division. With a few new names in the line-up it was a bigger
division than the Girls cable, which is always a good thing for
the sport. For the vast majority of the ladies this was their first
boat competition, they took it in their stride - the title going to
Jess Tucker who set a technical run including a backside 180,
going down on a toeside backside spin. Up next was the Mens
division. This was a huge division - you can take my word for
that as I was behind the wheel, taking rain to the face for the
entire division. Johnny Whittaker was looking to extend his
winning streak from his past two competitions. However, after
some difficult judging the winner was named as Ben Comber
who threw some of the most stylish tricks of the weekend, putting himself in second behind Johnny for the overall title - who
