Forward Wakeboard
Magazine
Edition 1
Welcome to Edition 1 of Forward
Wakeboard Magazine. This is just
a mini-release, a taster if you like,
to demonstrate what we can put
together between us, in an effort
to showcase what NZ rider’s are
getting up to, what’s going on in
the industry, events, competitions,
pretty much anything that is going
to be relevant (and sometimes
completely irrelevant) to a NZ
wakeboarder or wakeskater.
The format of the magazine is
always going to be a free, online
magazine. However hopefully
with time this will grow and we
press print, and mail a copy out to
subscribers. The Magazine relies
on contributors, this isn’t quite
so obvious from edition 1, as I
have only managed to con a few
individuals into helping me out,
and I’d like to say a huge thanks
to those guys now - you know who
you are, and this never would
have got off the ground without
you.
Back on track, I guess what I
am trying to get across is that I
want to hear what you’re up to,
whether your an open men’s rider
about to turn pro, or a bunch
of beginners heading away for
you’re first board of the season. If
your up to something, have something interesting planned, fancy
writing an article... then send it
over, and we can put something
together.
The more writers and photographers involved, the better
the magazine is going to read,
my aim is to eventually take a
backward step, just writing an
article or so per edition, and then
devoting my time to editing the
content you send in!
I’ll finish off the editorial by
saying that I hope to meet as
many people as possible in the
remainder of the season, I haven’t
been in New Zealand that long
yet, having just moved over from
the UK, after coaching wakeboarding in Asia for a few months.
But everyone I have met so far
has been awesome, there aren’t
many sports that have such a family feel, everyone I meet knows
someone I rode with back in the
UK. For the first time in quite a
while I’m without a boat I can use
when ever I want, which is killing
me, but also been a good motivation to go out and get involved
with the scene a bit more....
I hope you enjoy the magazine,
if you are motivated to contribute
(please....?!?), then flick me over
an email and I’ll see if I can help
out. [email protected]
Thanks for reading,
see you for edition 2....
