The boat was now full and it was time to put it through its paces. As I stood on the teak duck board and
strapped into my Ronix Phoenix board I cranked my favourite song through the full Fusion sound system,
lets just say this sound system very much did justice to my song, in fact I’m sure the rest of the lake were
also listening in. As I balanced on my rope attached to the Polished Stainless Steel X-Air Tower I slowly
eased in to the flat water.
With a bit of a shout signaling I was ready ,the standard 5.7 litre 315hp Mercruiser Engine fitted standard with ACME prop quietly but swiftly got us up on the plane with the sort of elegance you would expect
from a European car.
Riding at my preferred riding speed of 24mph the wake looked smooth and well shaped. I Cut in for the
first time and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the journey to the other side was. The wake has a
shallow and smooth transition that many of us have come to know and love, but then adds just enough
of a kick at the top of the wake to give you vertical pop that you want. Riding an 75ft line the wake
was a good width for myself, however the more experienced riders would probably want to take it out
another extension.
After talking to the man behind the Skope vision; Mat
Bailey I learned that getting a Wake like this didn’t come
easy, extensive research has been done over the last few
years as well as multible test boats before they found the
right combination that is the Skope 600V. This boat is not
going to suit everyone but it does fill a huge gap in the
market and should not be overlooked as a worthy option
for any family wanting to look at a V drive wakeboard
boat. The Skope 600V is priced at $69,990 and is great
for any family outing, if you are after a boat that will
grow with you and your families needs and ability levels
then make sure to give Mat and the team at Skope a call.
