sports league” – Nspire Physique Championships, otherwise known as NPC Global. Along with his wife Jen Thompson, Lee
co-founded NPC Global to encourage the
worldwide fitness community to “take control of our own future and our own destination.”
In releasing an official statement on the eve of the
2015 Olympia, Thompson announced his grand vision;
an organization which he says is founded on the “principals of equality,
opportunity and transparency.” Disillusioned with the way he believes
the physique competition industry is being run, Thompson formed NPC
Global to ensure “athletes, sponsors and fans are given the opportunity
to openly build a community that supports growth and development; a
community where athletes from around the world are welcomed with
open arms and encouraged to compete in any competitive division and
class that aligns with their goals.” Through NPC Global – with the rallying
call to arms “this is how we live” speaking to an organizational emphasis
on inclusion and community-building – Thompson also aims to provide
a “community where sponsors are rewarded for open support of athletes that represent the quality the community respects and demands.”
Following his initial pre-Olympia video statement, Thompson officially
launched NPC Global at Muscle Beach on November 8 during which the
entire framework of the Nspire Physique
Championship Pro and Amateur League
was outlined to masses of supporters and
curious onlookers.
