Michael Thom ( Be 1986-1990 ) unexpectedly passed away on 14 April 2021 at his home in Cornwall , England , aged 47 . Michael attended St George ’ s College between 1991 and 1993 . He was known by several monikers at college , with ‘ Chewie ’ being by far the most common . Chewie was tall with dark features and a dry but wicked sense of humour . He was incredibly intelligent and passionate about native wildlife and the environment . Chewie leaves behind a wife , Fliss , and two beautiful young children , Jessica ( 8 ) and Fraser ( 6 ). To lose a father at such a young age is a traumatic and life changing event . As a family , they are going to face significant challenges without the support of a father who was central to their world and provided the main source of income . Daniel Growden ( He 1989-1993 ), Vanessa , Flynn and Blake welcomed the beautiful Ivy Rose Growden to the family in April 2021 , weighing 3.63kg with a length of 52cm . Everyone is well and the family is now complete .
Simon Hall ( Be 1993-1994 ) is currently living in the UK working as a senior lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at the University of West of England , Bristol . He has been working in the NHS for a number of years with a focus on young people and psychosis . Simon has not been back to Perth since 2006 , but he is due a visit to see family and friends soon .
Raleigh Finlayson ( Sc 1989-1995 ) was featured in The West Australian highlighting his recent training regimen with one of Australia ’ s top former UFC fighters , Soa “ The Hulk ” Palelei . As Managing Director of Northern Star Resources , Raleigh ’ s involvement in the 12 week ‘ Macmahon Strong Minds , Strong Mines ’ program includes workshops and presentations regarding mental and physical health , as well as nutrition .
Muhammad ‘ Fahmi ’ Ahmad-Yussof ( SG 1991-1996 ) after almost eight years at Klopper & Davis Architects , Fahmi has been promoted to Associate and Senior Architect .
Luke Neuwert ( He 1996-2000 ) is now the Manager at Yarn Coffee Group .
Edward ‘ Ted ’ Withers ( Prep / Ha 1993-2006 ) married Prue Hawkins at a beautiful ceremony on 15 May 2021 , on the fifth anniversary of when they first met . Joining the happy couple were fellow former ‘ Preppies ’ in Konrad de Ruyter ( Prep / He 1995-2006 ), Robert Gasper ( Prep / Ha 1996-2006 ) and Corey Veenstra ( Prep / Ha 1999-2006 ), along with Kaye Timms ( Staff ).
Meghan Nugent ( Prep 2002-2008 ) started working for Goldfields Public Health as part of the COVID-19 contingency workforce as a Registered Nurse . She is based in Kalgoorlie and vaccinating the local population for both COVID-19 vaccinations as well as travelling to rural communities to help set up rural vaccination clinics .
Jasmine Carter ( Prep 2007-2009 ) and partner , Rhys , welcomed a gorgeous baby boy , Lucas , to the world in February 2021 .
Matthew Howell ( SG 2002-2011 ) married Lauren Gajda at the School Chapel on 25 April 2021 .
Hayden Bristow ( St 2007-2011 ) is now the Compliance Director at MODUS Compliance Pty Ltd .

Lachlann Lawton ( St 2010-2011 ) was a late replacement for West Australian Opera ’ s principal artist in the recent production of Elijah at Winthrop Hall . With his booming baritone voice , Lachlann gave a triumphant performance .
Zac Langdon ( He 2011-2012 ) was featured in The West Australian in light of his transition to The Eagles from The Greater Western Sydney Giants . The article highlighted Zac ’ s progress , and covers his aspirations for his foreseeable future in football as an Eagle . The foundation

He expressed the importance of surrounding yourself with role models and those who you can learn from . It is Zac ’ s ambition to be considered as one of the best 22 for the Eagles in the 2021 AFL season . Zac scored his first goal as an Eagle in Round 7 , at the Western Derby against the Fremantle Dockers , on 2 May 2021 .
Makenzie ‘ Mak ’ Heaven ( Prep / St 2008-2015 ) graduated from the WA Police Academy in February 2021 . Straight out of the Academy , Constable Heaven has been assigned to the COVID-19 department .
Tobe Watson ( Be 2014-2015 ), Griffin Logue ( SG 2011-2015 ) and Zac Langdon ( He 2011- 2012 ) all played in the AFL Western Derby on 2 May 2021 .
Tim Sander ( SG 2012-2017 ) was selected in the 2021 U23 Australian Rowing Team for the Men ’ s Quadruple Scull .
Simon Hayward ( Wb 2014-2018 ) made his debut in the WAFL League squad for the Perth Football Club on 29 May 2021 . In his first game , Simon had six disposals and kicked a goal .
Lachlan Madden ( Wb 2014-2018 ) received his Duke of Edinburgh ’ s Gold Award from the Governor General , General David Hurley , at Government House , Canberra , on 9 April 2021 . The same day the Duke of Edinburgh passed away at the age of 99 .
Malikah Rudge ( Prep 2019-2020 ) competed in the Sydney International 3DE equestrian event . The event had several Olympic hopefuls competing for a place at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games . Malikah rode extremely well with a personal best and placed fifth in the Junior class for eventing , which is a combination of dressage , show jumping and cross-country .
