Bushfire Appeal
Early this year many Guildford Grammar School families were impacted by the devastating fires that burnt through the Perth Hills region . Dozens of families were evacuated , some families lost property and three families very sadly lost their homes .
Following a call-out to the School community , we were overwhelmed with more than 50 families who offered accommodation , paddock space for livestock , livestock feed , mending fences or warehouse space . To these families , your generous support was greatly appreciated .
There was also significant support from the community for the Bushfire Appeal
with $ 30,000 raised , which included nearly $ 5,000 from the casual dress day for students and staff .
The three families whose homes were lost received an initial cash bequest as well as a provision for school uniforms . The remaining balance was distributed to the families in the form of vouchers , as agreed with each family . Further assistance has been provided to two families who had lost some property .
To all families who offered assistance or who contributed to the Bushfire Appeal – thank you , your support has made a significant difference .
