Celebrating our strong female role models : Mothers ’ Day Breakfast

It was a beautiful morning in May for our Preparatory School Mothers ’ Day Breakfast . We celebrated all our fabulous mothers , stepmothers , aunties , grandmothers and mother-figures whilst listening to the Preparatory School string musicians . Thank you to everyone involved who made the morning so special !
In April , we held an early celebration for our Senior School mothers , stepmothers , aunties , grandmothers and mother-figures . It was a beautiful morning for our Friends of Senior School ( FOSS ) Mothers ’ Day Breakfast on the Chapel Lawn , with the sounds of the Brass Ensemble and String Ensemble playing in the background .
Thank you to FOSS , our staff , musicians and all our volunteers , including our dads serving breakfast , for helping to make this community event so memorable !

From the P & F Society

And just like that , my time as a Preparatory School parent is over . Eight wonderful years and my youngest child has moved on . He has now joined the hustle and bustle of the Senior School .
There is so much that I will miss . No more chatting to parents in the carpark . No more handshakes or elbow bumps with teachers . No more walks up into the classroom to see what is going on . No more Friday morning assemblies and hearing the commendations . No more Prep sports carnivals . No more discos . No more times in the classrooms and helping the teachers . No more reading to the kids . No more kids reading to me .
I miss it . I really miss it . It was a big part of my life . They were good times . Our last Prep School Prize Giving night was an emotional event . I held it together up until saying goodbye to some of our wonderful teachers . The tears almost broke through , my emotions were swelling .
Why was I feeling emotional ? Because , before you realise it , the years will have disappeared . Do not miss out on opportunities . Get involved in events . Try to be a part of the School community . Build those memories . Live the moments with your child . Experience the highs and the lows with them . And go to the parent dinners . I have met other school parents over the years who are now my closest friends .
There are so many benefits of being involved in this school . I would be overjoyed to see more parents become involved . It does not take much effort but the rewards can be long-lasting .
