Nalani ’ s Cape to Cape journey

Nalani Snoeks ( 11SG ) set out on a very important adventure – walking the Cape to Cape track in the South West to fundraise for not one , but two important charities , raising over $ 3,000 . This is an incredible achievement and for Nalani , an unforgettable journey . Here ’ s what Nalani had to say about her experience :
On the 8th of April , I set out to hike the Cape to Cape Track , commencing at the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and finishing at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse .
I backpacked 123km , traversing through Yallingup , Moses Rock , Ellensbrook , Prevelly , Conto and Hamelin Bay to reach my final destination at Cape Leeuwin .
Over the course of my hike , I was able to experience some of WA ’ s most stunning coastal sceneries . These paths meandered through beautiful coastal heath , scrublands , woodlands , forest and beach .
Despite it being a challenge at times , the walk was incredibly enjoyable and offered an amazing , unforgettable experience .
This journey has been personally very meaningful , as it was planned in conjunction with a fundraiser for two charities - Bush Heritage Australia and Australian Marine Conservation Society . Through the support and generous donations , I have been able to meet my goals and more than $ 3,000 has been raised - thank you !

Containers for Change

Guildford Grammar School has partnered with Good Sammy to introduce ‘ Containers for Change ’ to the School , enabling the recycling of drinks containers to help reduce landfill .
Several yellow wheelie bins are on campus in both the Senior and Preparatory Schools as part of a new environmental recycling scheme to recycle used drinks containers . Funds raised will be used to finance environmental projects at GGS and to further Good Sammy ’ s important work .
