AROUND THE SCHOOL
Our number of
female students will
grow as we are seeing
a spike in interest
particularly in the
senior secondary years.
I am pleased to share that the overwhelming
nature of the responses have been positive,
and particularly pleasing is the number
of comments acknowledging the warm
welcome and constant care offered to all
our students, new and current by our staff
and students.
The project work involved in the transition
to full co-education continued in Term 1.
Work has commenced on the development
of a new boarding facility for boys and girls.
The School Council is currently engaged in
a competitive process to select a suitable
architect to manage the development. Once
the architect and initial investigation works
are complete the school community will be
invited to engage in a consultation process
to assist the School with the design. Also
in terms 2 and 3 the School will fine-tune
planning for 2019. We are working on
strategic plans to manage growth in both
our Sports and Music programs and will
continue to review and adapt our curricular
course options.
We have some months until we will confirm
enrolment numbers for 2019. At the time
of writing we have over 745 students
confirmed to attend the Senior School, of
these 90 are girls. We expect these numbers
will continue to rise during the remainder
of the year. Our number of female students
will grow as we are seeing a spike in interest
particularly in the senior secondary years.
Just under 200 people attended our June
School tour and interest in the School is
very strong. Throughout 2018 there will be
opportunities for both parents and students
to provide feedback to the School about the
ongoing transition to co-education in the
Senior School but there is no need to wait.
Your comments are welcome at any time
and can be lodged by providing feedback
through the School’s website.
