SENIOR SCHOOL Prefects’ Ball This year’s Prefects’ Ball took place at the Mandoon Estate in the Swan Valley, as the school broke up for the mid-term break in Term 1. This elegant, stunning location was perfect for this highly-anticipated event, with the river and gardens providing a fantastic backdrop as we arrived with our dates in our luxurious limousines. Thanks to Ms Leah and the Ball Committee, the Parisian theme came to life and the Ballroom looked amazing with white tablecloths, lamp-posts, candles and flowers. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks as we introduced our dates to friends and teachers. As is tradition, before entering the Ballroom, we introduced our partners to the Headmaster, Head of Senior School and their wives, as well as to the Captain of School and Vice-Captain of School. Before the meal was served we were given the opportunity to have our official Ball photos taken, causing much embarrassment to those being photographed and much amusement to those of us watching. We all enjoyed a delicious entrée of summer risotto with asparagus and zucchini flowers, a great success, which was polished off quickly by everyone. This was followed by a chicken main course, during which time group photos were taken. The band, Hibiscus, was invited to play and featured a number of 2015 Old Boys. Their music, although not overly suitable for dancing, still encouraged plenty of us to get up onto the dance floor for a quick dance. The boarders were extremely well represented, showing off their moves enthusiastically. Inevitably they were joined by a wide selection of mentors and teachers who caused much hilarity amongst the boys with their dance styles. Those of us not on the dance floor busting some moves, devoured a delicious dessert 20 of coconut panacotta, pineapple, lime and lemon balm. After all the dabbing and moshing, the boys and thei
