AROUND THE SCHOOL

The Oliverson Society – ensuring the spirit of the School

Brenda Mazzucchelli is a stalwart of Guildford Grammar School and having confirmed her intention to leave the School a gift in her will , is a Member of the School ’ s Oliverson Society . Brenda has had a long association with the School ; she served on Council for 13 years and on the Foundation Board ; she was a member and President of the Ladies Auxiliary and then became involved with the Mothers of Old Guildfordians ( MOGS ).
Brenda ’ s history with us spans over forty years , her three sons attended the School and her grandson , William Kail ( St 2015-2020 ) was School Captain in 2020 . Over the years , as well as volunteering a great deal of her time , Brenda supported philanthropic appeals for funds for the Centenary building program , the repair of the Chapel following the Meckering earthquake and the Bursary fund . Her response was always motivated by a love for the School .
Brenda said she “ Has always been drawn to the School because of its people . People are at the heart of Guildford Grammar School . It is a family . Everyone ; parents , leadership , academic and support staff are all dedicated to building the spirit of the family .”
Brenda stated , “ I love that the Chapel is the centre of the School on which Christian values were built and prevail today . I love that students receive a sound academic education , but that they are also educated for life . They learn respect for themselves and each other , respect for nature and respect for the community at large .”

Thank you
Guildford Grammar School warmly thanks our donors whose generosity supports our students and facilities :
When asked why she wanted to leave a bequest to the School , Brenda said , “ I love that Christian values still prevail , and I feel it is important to give recognition to people and places you admire and appreciate - and who had a significant influence on your life and that of your family . I want to acknowledge and recognise those I was close to and who meant a great deal to me . I want to ensure the spirit of the School remains to be experienced by students of the future .’
Contributors that leave a gift in their will are invited to join The Oliverson Society . This Society recognises those who have confirmed their intention to make a bequest to the School . Bursary Appeal
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our community who contributed to the Bursary Appeal earlier this year in support of those families experiencing financial difficulties due to COVID-19 . Your kindness and generosity helped alleviate some of the pressures and enabled students to continue their studies at the School uninterrupted . Our School family came together as it always does in times of need – we thank you profoundly .
