Dads’ Big Breakfast 2018
Our annual Preparatory School Dads’ Big Breakfast was held on Friday 31 August,
with hundreds of dads and their children enjoying another very special day.
No matter where I go
No matter what I become
I can always seek peace
By holding my daddy’s thumb
No matter what I do
No matter how I am
I can always find support
In my dad, who is a gem
Thanks for everything Dad
So too, we at Guildford Grammar
Preparatory School acknowledge the
unquestioned support we receive from our
dads and understand that this support plays
a crucial part in the culture and quality of our
community.
Dads’ Big Breakfast gives us the opportunity
to have all dads join us for a scrumptious
breakfast, but more importantly, to show
our dads how much we value all they do and
mean to us.
We were greeted by marvelous weather,
which enabled us to have dads and children
filling our new playground area and sharing
this quality time together. With the sound of
some great music by Mr Kieran Hurley and
his Jazz Band, the setting was ideal for this
morning of celebration and appreciation and
our dads responded in huge numbers.
Many relaxed conversations filled the air, with
dads sharing time together, talking to other
friends and children while relaxing around
circular tables dotted across our campus. The
quality of the breakfast and the friendly faces
that organised and served breakfast added
to the atmosphere of appreciation.
After breakfast, dads visited the classrooms
to meet and greet teachers and see some
of the work being done by their children.
The boys and girls always delight in showing
their dads their quality work and sharing
their classrooms.
To finish off the day all dads and children
moved to the hockey turf for the hotly
contested tug-of-war!
It was another outstanding community
day made possible by so many, but with
specific thanks to Mr Arran Warren and
Mrs Tracey Roki, and their catering teams,
for a job exceptionally well done. We salute
our catering staff, our grounds staff and our
maintenance teams. Many thanks also to
our FOPS mums and helpers for their
valuable support.
I took too long to acknowledge
But now I take a pledge
My love for you, I will always confess
And ensure that my respect for you
is never any less
That’s because I have realised
That you are the person
I have always prized
I wonder how I missed out on telling you
That you have been the best dad,
all through
Thanks Dad
