SENIOR SCHOOL
Walk the Wall 2018
The Languages Faculty, as part of a
Service Learning project, organised the
second Walk the Wall charity event at
Guildford Grammar School on Saturday 15
September.
Walk the Wall is a series of 5-10 kilometre
walkathon events all around the world
where compassionate people join together
to help to raise funds for abandoned and
disabled children in China.
On a sunny and gloriously crisp spring
morning, the Guildford Grammar School
Walk the Wall team set off from the
Foundation Pavilion, passing through the
school campus and along Great Eastern
Highways to Third Avenue towards the
scenic Swan River, continuing through the
Woodbridge Parkrun route. The route was
reversed for the walk back to the School.
The walk was around 11 km in total and
took approximately 1 hour 20 minutes to
complete. After the walk, everyone was
treated to delicious hot dogs provided
and cooked by Mr Longson and his two
adorable boys.
The Languages Faculty would like to thank
the Prefects, students, parents, friends
and their dogs for their donations and for
taking part in this charity event which raised
$1738.60. A special word of thanks to the
main organisers Ms Li Na Tan, Mr Richie
Longson and all the Languages staff.
