Social events for donors

Many of our donors joined us for evening soirees this year . Prior to school events , we were delighted to host over 100 guests at The Wedding Singer , the Baroque Concert and Symphony on Stage at the State Theatre – to name a few . These occasions are our way of saying thank you and bring together members of our community who support the School philanthropically – and who love to have a social occasion to catch up !

Plaques and pavers

Evidence of your support for the Naming Opportunities Appeal will shortly be on display in the new Boarding House . The plaques and pavers provide an interesting , rich and lasting narrative in our boarders home away from home .
The Appeal did more than raise funds . It saw many of our community re-connect , eager to be part of Guildford Grammar School ’ s boarding history . The emotional ties became evident as donors wanted to leave their own mark or commemorate past family or staff .
Thanks to you , these plaques will tell our story – from families who go back to 1907 to those who more recently become part of our community . Outside , the benches and pavers will add to this historic chronicle .
We will be having a celebration in the Boarding House in the new year – look out for your invitation . Thank you once again for your magnificent support .
Philanthropy fun fact : Plato established the first known endowment for the Academy in Athens in 387BC and then bequeathed his farm to ensure its continuation .
