2021 International Chemistry Quiz
The International Chemistry Quiz ( ICQ ) is truly an international competition with papers translated into seven different languages . It attracts students throughout Australia and 20 other countries around the world , including India , Germany and China .
The ICQ was held from 27-29 July 2021 , attracting more than 95,000 entries from schools in 21 countries , including more than 35,000 Australian students in 300 schools .
This year , 162 GGS students from Years 7 to 12 participated . They all did exceptionally well with 39 achieving a Credit , 17 a Distinction , 12 High Distinctions and two achieving High Distinction Excellence .
Special congratulations to the High Distinction Excellence recipients , Zac Macdonald ( 7Ha ) for a score of 28 / 30 and Elizabeth Moss ( 8Wb ), who scored a perfect 30 / 30 . Elizabeth was one of only five students in Western Australia to achieve this and will receive an ICQ lapel pin .
