Growing our
Little Explorers
Three-year olds thrive
Growth. This is the perfect word to
describe the journey that our Little
Explorers have experienced throughout
2019.
Our Little Explorers have taken the most
heartwarming leap of faith, and held
hands with us throughout their remarkable
discovery of self and others.
At Guildford Grammar School, they have
taken their first steps exploring their
independence, profound capability and
beautifully unique selves.
For some children, this is their first experience
being away from their parents. Watching
the transformation from nerves and shyness
to rushing through the door with smiles and
sheer joy is astounding!
Our journey has taught our children to
make decisions and express themselves with
confidence and pride, as well as learning
what it means to care and respect one
another with kindness and compassion.
It has been our privilege to introduce the
Little Explorers to the exciting world of
curiosity and wonder. As we expand our
incredible team and cohort in 2020, we
cannot wait for the adventure ahead!

A little dirt never hurt
our early learners at GGS!
We began with a bare patch of grass and a small hope in our hearts that a fantastic
opportunity would arise for us to begin our self-sufficient vegetable patch.
We were not disappointed! Four generously sized garden beds were constructed,
ready for us to plant!

Over Terms 2 and 3 the children and
educators poured time and love into planting,
weeding, fertilising and harvesting some
beautiful seasonal produce. From hundreds
of potatoes to delicious beetroot, cauliflower
and broccoli – our garden has it all! donated over $200 which will be put towards
purchasing spring and summer seedlings.
We baked, we mashed, we peeled, we sliced
and we ate, but there was still too much
produce left over. How could we make
sure the fruits of our labour would not be
wasted? A Mini Market sale! Our fantastic
Kindergarten and Pre-Primary families Quotes from the children:
If you are ever in the Preparatory School,
please feel free to wander through our
garden as it has become a space of such
beauty and peace.
The rain sucks up the dirt so the plants can
grow huger, huger and huger. – Beau (KM)
When it gets all the way up to the clouds,
we can eat it! – Michelle (KM)
