SENIOR SCHOOL
work in the Preparatory School as the
Sports Master, before moving into a Year 6
classroom. Three years ago I moved to the
Senior School to take up the role of Director
of Football. I am married to Vinny and we
have three daughters, Talietha (17), Rhani
(15) and Lemarna (10). Talietha and Rhani
came through the Preparatory School before
heading off to Perth College, while Lemarna
still attends the Preparatory School.
Mr Matt Weston
Year 10 Boarding Year Coordinator
I started working in boarding in 2013 and
became a Year Co-ordinator in 2014. I have
recently completed a Master’s in Education
through Deakin University. My interests are
cricket, football and cooking and I enjoy an
eclectic mix of music ranging from Motown
to Mozart. I have been married to Hayley
for six years and we have three children,
Harper (4), Jack (2) and Billie (1).
Mr James Perrin
Year 8 Boarding Year Coordinator
I am originally from England, but am slowly
morphing into a true blue Aussie, having
represented Australia earlier in the year at
the Amateur World Cycling Championships.
When I’m not looking after the boys,
teaching, or riding my bike, I enjoy spending
time with my wife Emily. Emily has recently
graduated from UWA and will soon be
commencing a career as a doctor. In our
spare time together we enjoy gardening,
hiking, cooking and a good brunch.
Mrs Jodie de Freitas
Boarding Administration Assistant
I have worked at Guildford Grammar
School for almost five years and in boarding
for four and half years. I also work in the
Community Relations Office. I am married
and have two boys who are 12 and 13 years
old. I spent my childhood growing up in the

years. My two children have both finished
school and are studying at university, leaving
me time to spend with other people’s
children now!
Our House Mothers
I love having the chance to be outdoors and
run, swim, cycle and tame the garden when
possible. Eating food and discovering new
ice-cream flavours always interests me but
I am mindful that it is all about portion size
and promoting the idea that we should all
try to “move more and eat less!”
Mrs Shirley Durrant
House Mother,
Sir Francis Burt Senior Hall of Residence
I was the House Mother for Henn’s House
for a number of years. My two sons were in
Freeth House and my husband, Chris, was
House Master of Bennett House. I am the
mother of four, Tamsin, Rachel, Jonathan
and Matthew, both very passionate Old
Guildfordians, especially in rugby matters!
I am the proud grandmother of seven,
the youngest being twins. Apart from my
interest and concern for the welfare of your
sons in our care, I enjoy being part of a
church community, gardening when I can,
lots of reading and genealogy research, and
keeping up with my friends.
Mrs Libby Stafford
House Mother,
