ACTA DERMATO-VENEREOLOGICA IS 100 YEARS OLD
First of all, I would like to remind you that we will be celebrating Acta Dermato-Venereologica’s 100-year anniversary
with a symposium in Stockholm on 15 May 2020. There are still places left, but don’t wait too long to sign up; the
number of participants is limited. You can find out how to sign up for this symposium on page 120.
In reference to this 100-year celebration the former Editor-in-Chief of ADV, Anders Vahlquist, has writ-
ten an historical overview of the journal, reviewing the different steps the journal has taken through
the years. Of course, one of the major steps has been transformation of ADV from a traditional
subscription-based journal into a publication-based model. This has enabled the journal to become
totally open access. Read more on page 117.
Tattoos and body-piercing, and their pros and cons, have been discussed many times. In this issue
you can read about tattoos and body-piercing among French teenagers (p. 115).
Mother-to-child transmitted syphilis has been a major problem, not least in Ukraine. I have invited a der-
matologist from Ukraine, Ludmyla Derevyanko, to report on the situation. See page 121.
The young researchers in the Nordic countries are active as usual. This issue contains 6 dissertation reports (p. 126–135).
