spinal cancer, which eventually rendered Jim
paralyzed from the waist down. He endured
more radiation, more chemotherapy, more
surgeries, a bout with MRSA, and then a
heart-attack – all within less than one year of
his initial diagnosis. Faced with fighting two
overwhelming battles; preserving the life and
dignity of her beloved husband, and saving
the home they’ve shared, Dale took charge. A
local teacher and friend, Elizabeth immediately
stepped up and contacted Mike Mason,
Supervisor Polk County Veteran Services to see
if there was anything they could help with. After
hearing their story, Mike reached out to (CFI)
Certified Foundations, Inc. to see if they would be
willing to lend a helping hand.
