Fort Worth ISD seniors awarded combined $72,200

>> During a special reception May 29 at the Fort Worth Club, 10 Fort Worth ISD graduating seniors were awarded a combined $72,200 toward

their college educations from the Chesapeake Scholarship award program. Each award is renewable for up to four years, making the total value
of the scholarships $288,800.
The program was established at the Community Foundation of North Texas in 2007 by Chesapeake Energy and augmented by private, individual, corporate and community donations. To date, the program has awarded more than $1 million to 43 minority student graduates from FWISD
high schools.
