Lee County’s beaches are rated as healthy by the National
Healthy Beaches Campaign, headed by Dr. Stephen P.
Leatherman (“Dr. Beach”). Beaches are evaluated on
35 environmental and service-based criteria, including
water quality, public services, litter control and proactive
environmental management stances. Our beaches are
monitored monthly. Explore secluded coves where few
people gather, or opt for family-friendly shores with a
variety of amenities. See map, pages 35-37.
