Formed Function/ ISSUE #1 2014

Flush Fit Written by Johnie Gonzalez

Some people are born with a passion for cars in their blood. A true passion passed down from generation to generation. Or a passion simply raised into because of one’s environment. In the end, it’s a pureness of passion, and that’s where Dennis Marte falls into it all.

Born in New York and partially

raised in Dominican Republic, Dennis was always around cars. From stanced to fully modified cars, he has seen and been around it all. His obsession with the scene and the camaraderie that cars generated grew a passion in him for cars like no other.

Dennis believed that a cars presence truly defines its owner. With that belief in mind, he bought himself a Honda Accord. Inspiration always surrounded Dennis, it may have come from Dominican Republic or from the streets of New York. Either way, it was a matter of time before Dennis took his blank canvas and demonstrated what his artwork could truly define about him. He states, “It was history in the making from then on…”

Stance was a form and function Dennis felt strongly about do to his roots. He also had inspiration from a good friend over on my8thgen.com Jorge, (Bpearl2010) which represented Team Vossen at the top level of the stance world. Dennis and Jorge had a connection in taste for modification and with Jorge’s inspiration, Dennis dove into the scene with fury and the impact he is making is clearly seen in his work.

Definition of form and function was displayed by Dennis in a number of ways. Dennis wanted his car to represent him in a way that would speak volumes about him, his creativity and his passion for the car scene. Stance was definitely on the list and Dennis made a statement when he went with Megan SS Coilovers. The decision was the best one he has made yet. The car rides and looks smooth. To accompany the stance, Varrstoen ES1 20x10 front and 20x11 rears where installed. The marriage between car and wheels was complete from then on.
