I am now beginning work on a new University Strategy that will shape the next decade for Keele. My goal is for it to be bold, distinctive, and true to who we are – a strategy that celebrates Keele’ s interdisciplinary roots while setting out a confident vision for the future. It will highlight the ways in which we combine academic excellence with social purpose, and how we can make an even stronger contribution locally, nationally, and globally.
Our alumni and supporters will play a crucial role in shaping that future. Keele has always been a community built on connection – between disciplines, between ideas, and between people. The achievements of our alumni, across every sector and in every corner of the world, are a living reflection of the University’ s values. As we begin to develop our new strategy, I want to engage with our alumni network to hear your perspectives on what makes Keele distinctive and how we can make that distinctiveness even clearer in the years ahead.
Each of these acts, large or small, strengthens the community that makes Keele so special. Our alumni now span more than 160 countries, reflecting the diversity, creativity, and global outlook that define this University. Wherever you are in the world, you remain part of the Keele family.
Over the coming months, I hope to meet many more of you as we begin this exciting journey of renewal and ambition. Your ideas, experiences, and insights will be vital as we define what Keele should stand for in the next generation.
My commitment, as Vice-Chancellor, is to our students, staff, alumni, and partners: that we will build the future Keele together – a university that honours its founding vision of broad-based education, continues to put students first, and stands proudly as a place where ideas, people, and disciplines come together to make a difference.
