First cohort of Nursing Associate apprentices begin studies
The first cohort of students has begun a new Nursing Associate apprenticeship delivered by Keele University and Telford College, following a landmark partnership with NHS partners to boost healthcare skills in Shropshire.
The programme, approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, combines practical training at Telford College’ s Clinical Skills Centre with expert-led sessions from Keele. Graduates can also complete an 18-month“ top-up” to qualify as registered nurses.
Marie Doherty, Head of Nursing and Midwifery at Keele, said:“ This programme reflects our shared commitment to expanding healthcare education and workforce development in Shropshire.”
