Alumni events form part of visit to strengthen UK- China academic relations
In September , Professor David Law , Academic Director of Global Partnerships and PhD History ( Class of 1987 ) was part of a delegation to visit Chinese universities and higher education agencies , organised by Universities UK .
During the visit , Professor Law was able to meet six other Keele alumni in Hong Kong where drinks and nibbles were served at the Peninsula Hotel . Lynn Wu , Keele ’ s regional manager in Hong Kong , also attended . Later in the trip , in Shanghai , the British Council held an alumni dinner for all the universities involved in the delegation . At this event , David met four 2023 graduates from the Dual Degree programme that Keele runs with the Beijing Foreign Studies University ( BA International Governance and Public Policy ). All four have either continued their studies in China or are in graduate trainee posts in local government .
The attendees in Hong Kong were : Nick Case , Founder of Asia Edit ( BA Economics and Politics , Class of 1990 ; MBA , Class of 1992 ); David Poon , Lecturer in the School of Professional Development , Hong Kong Police College ( BSc Economics and Statistics , Class of 1994 ); Sadhwani Kamlesh , a well-known barrister in 601 Dina in Hong Kong ( BA Law and Management Science , Class of 1993 ); Agnes Wang , Partner in Zimmern Law ( LLB with Business Administration , Class of 2007 ); and a married couple who both studied at Keele but only met later – Berenice Earn Ee Lee ( MA American Studies , Class of 1991 ) and Ron Hon Ming Chan ( Economics &
