Celebrations as NHS marks 75 years
On Thursday 23 November , Keele University ’ s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences hosted a celebration of the NHS in a prestigious ceremony at Keele Hall with local partners from health and social care organisations .
The incredible partnerships and strong relationships that Keele has with its health and social care partners were showcased through a series of awards , recognising and celebrating excellence in collaboration and partnership .
Hosting the evening was Professor Pauline Walsh , Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences , who described the evening as the perfect way to mark the end of the year which has seen the NHS turn 75 . Joining her were staff from across our local NHS Trust partners , local business and the third sector , public members and staff from across the faculty .
The evening culminated in an awards ceremony , with nine awards being given out to very worthy winners .
Keele alumni success was recognised in the Keele Alumni Achievement Award , which was won by former Nursing ( Learning Disability ) student , Lincoln Gombedza . Lincoln was nominated for his successful partnerships with NHS Digital ’ s Decision-Making Council , the Nursing and Midwifery Council ( NMC ), Speakers for Schools , CHIME International , Florence Nightingale Foundation , Sigma Nursing , and Daisy Foundation . Lincoln ’ s nomination recognised his many previous accolades including receiving the Chairman ’ s Award at Combined Healthcare ’ s staff REACH Awards 2022 and being a standout finalist at the Nursing Times Awards .
