Farewell message from Vice-Chancellor, Professor Trevor
McMillan OBE
As I prepare to retire after ten truly memorable years at Keele, I want to take a moment to thank you- our global alumni community – for the inspiration, support, and friendship you’ ve shared with me throughout this journey.
It has been one of the great privileges of my role to meet so many of you at gatherings both here on campus and around the world. Whether reconnecting with graduates from decades past or hearing from recent alumni making their mark, I’ ve been continually reminded of the ambition and pioneering spirit that defines Keele.
Keele is a university like no other. Its close-knit, inclusive community creates a sense of belonging that stays with you long after graduation. I’ ve seen first-hand how engaged, generous, and welcoming our alumni are- always ready to support one another and the next generation of Keele students.
I’ m especially grateful to those of you who have supported Keele philanthropically through volunteering, mentoring, and donations. Your generosity has helped us create new opportunities, advance vital research, and strengthen our community in ways that will resonate for years to come. Now, more than ever, this type of support is vital to communities like Keele.
As I step down, I do so with immense confidence in Keele’ s future and deep gratitude for the role you continue to play in its story. We continuously strive to ensure that you remain proud of your University and I would like to thank you for being part of this remarkable community.
With warmest wishes,
Professor Trevor McMillan OBE
