Alumni and supporters celebrated in King’ s Birthday Honours 2025
Congratulations to our Keele alumni, supporters, and friends who were recognised in the King’ s Birthday Honours 2025.
Awarded the Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire was Emma Bridgewater CBE, Founder of Emma Bridgewater Pottery and member of Keele University College of Fellows, for services to ceramics.
Awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire was honorary graduate Professor Emily Shuckburgh CBE, for services to climate science and to the public communication of climate science.
Awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire were:
• Keele alumnus Professor Pankaj Sharma OBE for services to research in strokes in South Asian people.
• Keele alumna and honorary fellow Dr Diane Swift OBE for services to education.
Awarded Member of the Order of the British Empire were:
• Keele alumna Catherine Sezen MBE, for services to further education.
• Keele alumnus Mark Todd MBE, for services to sailing and to young people.
And congratulations to supporter of Keele, Professor Dame Susan Bell Burnell DBE FRS FRSE, on being awarded the Companion of Honour for services to astronomy and physics, and to diversity.
