Keele Day

It was wonderful to see so many Keelites celebrating Keele Day , both on campus and around the world , on Saturday 1 July
On campus , we welcomed over 200 alumni , and their friends and family , for a programme of tours , talks and walks , with highlights including the sustainability walking tour of campus , tours of our Harper Keele Vet School and Prosthetics and Orthotics facilities , and a talk on our Smart Energy Network Demonstrator . Guests were able to have pictures taken with our Keele squirrel mascot and talk to our Keele First Responders , as well as enjoy our family-friendly sports and craft zone .
“ Highlights for us were visiting Keele Hall as I enjoyed my English seminars there . Also , the Students ’ Union where I remember seeing great bands such as U2 and The Eurythmics . We went for a walk around campus and the lake too and really enjoyed visiting The Observatory ! The whole experience was poignant and uplifting and we will be back !”
Susan Dobbs ( nee Barnfather ), English & History ( 1984 )
Meanwhile , around the world , Keelites held reunions in Israel , USA , Malaysia , Singapore , India , Nigeria and China , with plans for more events to be held later this year .
From evening drinks to lunch meetups , to full-day programmes , our global hosts decided on the reunion format to suit their audience . We are hugely appreciative to our global hosts , without whom these events would not be possible .
‘’ The new faces joining the group were definitely a pleasant surprise , so thanks to them and the regulars for turning out . As this has become something of an annual event , long may it continue !”
