IN MEMORY
Memorial Garden
Our alumni remember Keele
with great affection, not just the
University and what was learned
here, but also the beautiful
campus and how it enhanced
your experience as you set out
on your path to the future.
Each year we receive many requests for
a bench or a tree somewhere on campus
as a memorial to a loved one.
We have now established a Keele Memorial
Garden which is situated beside the Clock House
drive. This is an ideal place to remember loved
ones, it is a beautiful peaceful part of the campus
area and has some of the best views over the
Staffordshire countryside.
You can choose your own tree from apple, pear,
damson, medlar or cherry and a plaque with your
choice of wording can be designed. We can help
you organise an official planting ‘ceremony’ if
desired. If you cannot return to campus for the
planting of your tree, we will happily photograph
the event for you.
Family members and friends of the late Rob Brown
(1971) gathered to plant one of the first three trees
to inaugurate the new memorial garden.
All the trees in the Memorial Garden will be
expertly maintained by our Grounds Team
and we envisage the area will grow over time,
incorporating benches, a water feature and
natural paths. As the garden developes,
we will ensure that it remains as natural and
close to nature as possible.
The cost of placing a tree in the Keele Memorial
Garden is just £200.00 which includes the tree,
the planting and maintenance and the plaque.

LEGACIES
We are delighted to receive bequests and
we aim to ensure that including a legacy
in your will is straightforward and reflects
a fully informed decision. You are free to
choose what your gift supports, including
facilities and services for students,
bursaries and scholarships, heritage and
campus improvements.
Dame Fiona Woolf, former Lord Mayor
of the City of London, says: “Legacies
are a wonderful way of giving. As former
President of the Law Society I was an
advocate of the benefits of making a will.
As a Keele graduate I am ian advocate of
including a legacy for Keele in our wills to
make a difference.”
Legacies have enabled Keele to build
unique facilities for Primary Care research
and provided bursaries for students in
need of help.
