Forever Keele 15
My proudest accomplishment came last year, when Hong
Kong debuted at the Quidditch World Cup, only four years
after we’d introduced the sport to the country. Over 26
countries took part in the tournament, where we managed
to defeat Finland in a match that was live-streamed across
the world. It was an emotional hard-earned journey for me
and my teammates, and I’m proud to still be involved in
promoting and organising Quidditch sessions for the Hong
Kong public in order to recruit more players.
Away from Quidditch, I am currently working as a
Native English Teacher in Hong Kong, mostly teaching
Kindergarten and Primary School children.
Keele University opened so many doors for me, and was
essentially the rebirth of my life. It gave me a chance to
reinvent myself and to make myself better. I experienced a
lot of life-changing experiences at Keele, and really grew as
a person. Sometimes going to a new place really changes
your perspective about the past, present and future of your
life. Life in the Keele Bubble felt like you were in your own
community, with many like-minded people from all over the
world doing the same thing.
If any current students are reading this, my advice would
be to seize the opportunities that Keele has to offer. Join
a society – or start a new one. Apply for a job at Keele
Hall. Apply for a leadership role within the Students’ Union.
Explore nearby cities. Travel to nearby regions. All of
these things are available in abundance at Keele, and
will continue to have an impact on your life long after you
graduate.
