Vegetation zones of the world
The Earth has many different vegetation zones:
Tundra which is found in the Arctic Circle. The area is cold most of the time and only some mosses, grasses and dwarf shrubs are able to grow there.
Polar deserts that consists primarily of gravel plains and hard bedrock.
Taiga which consists mostly of spruces, pines and larches. It is the world's largest biome.
Temperate broadleaf and mixed forest which consists of maples, oaks, birches and beeches.
