What is it like
to study Forensic
Science at Keele?
Most modules are taught using a combination of lectures,
laboratory and problem classes. Modules in forensic science
contain a variety of assessment methods including expert
witness statements, examinations, case reports and oral
presentations ensuring you graduate with a range of skills.
You will get experience working
individually and as part of a team
throughout your degree. Laboratory work
is assessed in many ways including
laboratory diaries, reports, pro-formas,
poster presentation and oral assessment.
Feedback is provided on all student work
in a variety of formats including written,
oral and electronic such as through the
use of innovative screencasts.
To supplement contact hours, forensic
science staff make extensive use of the
Keele Learning Environment (KLE) to
provide reading lists, quizzes and lecture
notes. Many of our lectures are recorded
using the Keele PlayBack system with
students being able to replay lectures to
aid their revision.
All students at Keele are allocated a
personal tutor to support your personal
and academic development. In addition to
this point of contact, in Forensic Science
we also have year tutors who oversee
your academic progression.

JASMINE MEARS BSc
“Throughout my course,
I learnt so much through
taught material, practical
laboratory sessions and
problem classes, all of which
complemented each other
and there were plenty
of helpful and friendly
lecturers, technicians and
post-graduates around to
solve any problems that
you may have.”
