TOEIC
TOEIC (Test of English for Internnational Communication) has been used by
institutions, companies, and government agencies worldwide to measure the
everyday English skills of people working in an international environment.
The
Test
of
International
English
for
Communication
(TOEIC) is an English test for
professionals who do not have
that language as their mother
tongue. Measure the skills and
competencies
of
workers
in
their work environment.
Specifically, it is designed to assess the knowledge of English in a professional
environment. Like the TOEFL and the GRE, this test has been done by ETS
(Educational Testing Service), a US company based in Princeton (New Jersey)
since 1979.
Worldwide, 7 million TOEIC exams are taken each year, being the most used
professional English test in the world.
Consists in:
Listening
Part I: 10 questions related to photographs, 4
options per photograph (previously there were
20).
Part II: It stays the same, 30 questions with 3
answers each.
Part III: Group of questions about the same short
conversation (previously there were 20 brief
conversations with one question per conversation).
Part IV: It remains the same, several questions about different short exposures.
