William W . Kirk and his wife Elizabeth have four children ( Will , 12 ; Benedict , 11 ; Alice , 10 ; and Nicholas , 5 ). After working at Notre Dame for about twenty plus years as an Associate Vice President , Bill and his family went to Ave Maria University in Florida for 4 years as VP for Student Affairs and VP for Legal Affairs and General Counsel . Following that , they moved to Kansas City ( where Elizabeth ’ s family is from ) and did some private equity work . Now , he ’ s back on the East Coast , Deputy General Counsel for the Department of Education and Elizabeth is Research Associate at the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University and living in Washington , DC . The kids are loving it !
