THE MOGLIA FACTOR : IMPACT ON THE PREP
press conference : “ I cannot imagine anything more rewarding than helping 18-22 year olds become men through football .” Prior to 2019 , Joe was the Head Football Coach at Coastal Carolina and in his first five seasons he led his team to the Division I-AA playoffs all five years and was conference champions four times posting , an overall record of 56-22 and a winning percentage of . 718 . In his last 11 years of college coaching , he was a part of 8 championship teams . He has also received multiple Coach of the Year honors , including the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year award , was the recipient of the Vince Lombardi Award , was inducted into the Lombardi Hall of Fame and was selected to the Conference All Decade Team .
Over the years , Joseph Moglia ’ s accomplishments in both his fields of endeavor have been recognized and honored by various organizations , as well as by the many institutions to which he has leant his support . In 2005 , Joe was honored by the National Italian American Foundation for his business leadership accomplishments and by the Columbus Citizens Foundation in 2006 for his lifetime of professional achievements . In 2009 he was nominated for the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and honored at the American Institute for Stuttering with an Achievement Award . Moglia is currently serves as Chairman of Capital Wealth Advisors , Chairman of FG New America Acquisition Corp and Chair of Athletics and Executive Advisor to the President at Coastal Carolina University .
He has been inducted into seven Halls of Fame , is a member of the National Economics Society and is the recipient of three Honorary Doctorates . Joe has already had a book written about his life , and he is the only author in the world that has written two books published on both investing and football .
In 2022 , he will be publishing a book on leadership . Moglia ’ s success can be traced back to his philosophy on leadership . Through the years , Joe Moglia ’ 67 has made a tremendous impact on his alma mater , through support of the Annual Fund , annual scholarships , as a major contributor to building projects , and headlining events , all in the name of supporting the Prep . Over the past 30 + years , Moglia has :
• Served as a school trustee ( 1995-2001 )
• Established the Joseph H . Moglia ’ 67 Scholarship and supported the Moglia Scholars program
• Served as a major contributor to other named scholarships , such as the Joe Fox ’ 29 Scholarship , the John Vrionis ’ 64 Scholarship , the Charles DaParma ’ 45 Scholarship , Ososki / Bott Gridiron Hall of Fame Scholarship , among others
• Served as a major contributor to multiple backfield renovations
• Made a major gift towards the East Wing Expansion
• Made major gifts to the “ Ensuring the Legacy ” and “ Igniting the Mission ” capital campaigns
• Joined the Shea-McDonough Legacy Society , naming Fordham Prep in his estate plan
• Served as a speaker at three Wall Street Forums and recently hosted a virtual Wall Street Forum which involved Fordham Prep Economics students
• Headlined the 2016 Gridiron Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner
• Contributed major gifts to the Fordham Prep Athletic Department
