Augustine (Augie) Perrotta ’56
“I’m grateful for having gotten to know
Augie Perrotta. Meeting Alumni like
Augie, learning about their love of, and
dedication to Fordham Prep makes the job
I have here that much better. With Augie’s
passing, out community is a little smaller,
but the Long Maroon Line continues on,
and thanks to his dedication to the school
and his work on behalf of Father Crowley, a
little bit of our history has been preserved
for those that will come after him.”

his Fulbright Grant in Montenegro and

Adrian Cacho has been accepted into the
Peace Corps and is currently serving in
Ecuado as a Foreign Language Volunteer
Teaching English
“As
someone
who
has always been committed to service
work and giving back to all communities,
the Peace Corps was a program that
immediately
caught
my
attention,
especially because of its work around the
world,” said Cacho. “I wanted to continue
doing this much-needed and important
work while also learning about how I can
be a changemaker at home and beyond.
I’m most excited about being able to
teach. It’s going to be a pleasure getting
to watch everyone grow in their own way
and be a part of that journey.”

Anthony (Tony) J. Cruickshank ’63
“Tony was inducted into the Track and
Field Hall of Fame in March of 2013. He
gave a great acceptance speech and in it,
exhorted Gus Menocal ’14, a star Junior
discus thrower, to take down his 51-year
old record during the coming spring
season. On May 4,2013, at the Jesuit
Championship, Gus threw the disc 162’3”,
breaking Tony’s record of 156’8.5”. Tony
was at that moment back at the Prep
for his Golden Rams celebration, and we
called Larry Curran to let him know the
news. We subsequently heard that Tony
then led the Golden Rams in a rousing
cheer for Gus and The Prep. He was a
class act and a true Golden Ram.”
