Fordham Prep beats Xavier , Wins Turkey Bowl
The 93rd annual Turkey Bowl between Fordham Prep and Xavier High School is one game the Prep faithful will talk about for years to come . The Rams struck in the first quarter with two touchdown passes from junior quarterback Matt Valecce to junior Will Loffredo for 66 and 36 yards . But Xavier clawed their way back scoring 18 unanswered points to give the Knights an 18-13 lead heading into the fourth quarter . Late in the fourth quarter , Fordham Prep began its march for the game-winning touchdown . Starting from their own 20-yard line , the Rams went 80 yards in six plays and finished with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Valecce to senior Liam McHale with 2:15 left in the game . The biggest play of the drive was a 42 yard “ hook and lateral ” from Valecce to senior Thomas Natkin , who then pitched the ball back to Loffredo . The football Rams finished at 5-5 for the year with this win .
