He is currently a federal judge in the Eastern District of New York after a long and distinguished career in private practice. His poem won the NY Browning Society High School Student Poetry Contest. Students from the five boroughs in public, private and parochial high schools were asked to submit poetry, and two winning poems from each were chosen. Valentine’s Day Dance On February 7th, Prep seniors enjoyed a special evening of music and dance with their mothers at the annual ‘Mom Prom.’ Congratulations to the Fordham Prep Dramatics Society! Several members of the ensemble were nominated and won awards from the National Youth Theatre for their performance in the musical Newsies! This year’s field included over 700 productions from 17 states, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Congratulations to FP Counselor TJ O’Sullivan ’98 and his crew for the honors! Mr. Ahern has been teaching at Fordham Prep since 1974, though his association to the school goes back to 1959 when he was a freshman in Hughes Hall. He was joined at the presentation by his family. Congratulations Mr. Ahern! On April 15, Fordham Prep, on behalf of its alumni, hosted a breakfast for the Class of 2019 in The Garden Terrace Room at the New York Botanical Garden to welcome this year’s graduating class to the Fordham Prep alumni body. This year’s speaker was Jim Mustich ’73, former Prep Trustee, and author of 1000 Books to Read Before You Die. 12 RAMVIEW SUMMER 2019 13
