Recap Admissions Mom Prom 2018 was a huge success! The Senior-Mother/Guardian Social, lovingly known as the "Mom Prom" was held at the Prep on February 15. This was a night to remember with moms and sons spending time answering trivia questions on Kahoot, dancing the night away and taking pictures in a special Prep photo booth. Thank you to all who participated and supported the event. This year, over 475 boys visited the Prep in the company of a freshman. Our 125 guides went out of their way to make our guests feel at home. Each admitted applicant to the Class of 2022 received a phone call from one of the incredible members of the Fordham Prep Mothers’ Club Ambassador Program. Prep moms are instrumental in the admissions process, sharing their thoughts at events, including Open House. One of the key admissions events took place in January, our Merit Scholarship Night. Boys who were invited to participate in this event had to finish in the top 10th percentile of their entrance exam and have excellent grades. This year, over 230 applicants qualified for the night making it one of the most competitive in recent years. The boys were required to sit for an interview with a faculty member and write an essay while their parents were treated to a presentation about student life at the Prep. Feedback from that night indicates that both scholarship candidates and their families came away very impressed with our students, faculty and the Prep as a whole. Over 240 young men officially registered for the Class of 2022 on March 12. This number is sure to grow in the coming weeks as more boys continue to make final decisions. The class is an impressive and eclectic group who come from four of the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, Fairfield, New Jersey and upper New York Counties. They represent 124 individual schools from the tri-state area. Twenty-five percent of the class had a father, grandfather, brother or uncle attend the Prep. I am grateful for the help of our Ram for a Day guides, members of our Mothers’ and Fathers’ Clubs, parents who hosted gatherings for prospective families, our faculty and staff, our tremendous facilities staff for preparing the building for all of our events and Mr. Corey Punter ’07 in his first year as Associate Director of Admissions. While it is the end of this admissions season, we are already planning for next year. Bradley Serton ’95 Director of Admissions and HAP 8 | RA MVIE W
