Basketball
The Varsity ended their season with a hard-fought loss to
Monsignor Farrell in the CHSAA "A" City Championship game on
March 3. They finished the season with a 19-8 record, second
place in league and the city, winning the Cactus Jam tournament
in Phoenix, AZ over Christmas Break. In addition, Jordan Gaitley
reached a huge Prep and personal milestone, scoring his 1,000th
point - his total for his varsity career was 1,004! For his efforts,
Gaitley was named the CHSAA "A" Division MVP; senior Patrick
Mahoney was named to the All-League team. On behalf of the
Basketball program, a huge thank you to all the student body,
faculty, administrators and fans who supported the team!
The JV finished the regular season with a 15-7 record and
qualified for the CHSAA JV "A" division playoffs as the #2 seed.
The team opened their 1/4-final playoffs game with a convincing
62-40 victory over St. Joseph by the Sea. In the semi-final game,
they went up against their Jesuit rival Xavier High School in a
hard fought contest that saw both teams go back and forth with
the lead. It was Xavier that prevailed 46-57 and finished the JV
Rams season.
The Frosh team finished the regular season with an 11-7 record
giving them the #4 seed heading into the CHSAA Freshman "A"
division playoffs. The Frosh traveled to Staten Island to take on
Bronx neighbor Cardinal Spellman in the 1/4-finals of the
playoffs. The freshman played a hard-fought game and held the
lead, but a Spellman three-pointer at the buzzer gave them a
55-54 victory over the young Rams.

Ice Hockey
The Varsity finished the season with a 6-10 record, a 4th place
in the CHSAA "A" Division. The team qualified for the "A" playoffs
for the second year in row. The team finished its season with a
6-2 loss in the CHSAA "A" semi-finals to eventual league
champion St. Anthony's.
The JV started the season on fire winning their first three games
and defeating CHSAA hockey power St. Anthony's twice by scores
of 7-2 and 3-1. The Rams finished the season with a record of
6-7 and qualified for the CHSAA JV hockey playoffs as the # 3
seed. In the semi-final playoff game they played the #2 seed
rival Iona Prep. Both teams battled through regulations and the
first OT tied 1-1. With a few seconds left in the 2nd OT Iona Prep
found the back of the net bringing the season to a close.
Wrestling
The Varsity finished 2nd at the NYS Section Qualifying
tournament in December. During the Christmas break the team
competed at the St. Anthony’s invitational: Blaise Narcisco 1st,
Spencer Carter 2nd, Brendan Sowerby 3rd, Derek Certo 4th,
Henry Driscoll 4th, Kobe Simpson 5th, Tom Golden 5th and
Alexis Gonzales 6th. On the JV level, GianCarlo Toarmino 1st,
George Speres 3rd, Nick Emer 3rd, Matt Romano 4th and Dennis
Driscoll 4th. The team made program history qualifying 17
wrestlers to the CHSAA State tournament in Buffalo. Overall, five
wrestlers were winners at the tournament each earning
All-Catholic honors: Dan Alexander, Kobe Simpson and Blaise
Narcisco each finished 3rd in their respective weight classes,
Spencer Carter and Henry Driscoll each finished 6th in their
weight classes.
