Member of record setting ( smashing ) Championship of America 4 Mile relay at Penn Relays . ( 1963 ) • The team was inducted into the Penn Wall of Fame in 2013 ( other three members of the relay are already in the Fordham Hall Of Fame ( Tom Kenny , Matt Cucchiara , Norb Sander )
• Member of winning Championship of America 2 mile relay at Penn Relays the day after the 4 Mile Relay • Member of 2 Mile Relay that , during the 1963 Indoor Season , won the NYAC Games at Madison Square Garden missing the world record by 0.8 seconds . ( 7:31.6 ) • The 2 Mile Relay time was third-best in the world that year • School record holder at VCP for five miles
• Record broken by Matt Cucchiara who is in the Hall of Fame • School record holder at 2 miles Indoors and 3 miles Outdoors • His 2 mile record was also broken by Matt Cucchiara • Two-time winner of the Indoor MET 2 mile , the second time in meet record time • Three-time winner and meet record holder of the MET 3 mile outdoors ( Sophomore , Junior and Senior year - Freshman were not allowed to compete at the varsity level at the time ) • With no NCAA Indoors contested until 1965 the METS and IC4A ’ s were the glamour meets .
A 1971 Fordham College graduate • After college , coached college football for 16 years , winning two Ivy League Championships as defensive coordinator at Dartmouth College and setting national records as a defensive and special teams coach at Lafayette College • Left coaching in 1984 and returned in 2009 at the University of Nebraska • Became the head coach of the Omaha Nighthawks in 2011 • Named head football coach at Coastal Carolina University in 2012 , leading his team to three conference championships , three National Playoffs
• Named Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2014 • Compiled a 56-22 record at Coastal Carolina – a winning percentage of . 718 – making him the winningest football coach from Fordham
• Inducted into : Vince Lombardi Hall of Fame ; National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame , Man of the Year ; Omaha Business Hall of Fame ; Archmere Academy Sports Hall of Fame ; Fordham Preparatory School Hall of Honor ; Fordham Preparatory Sports Hall of Fame ; Fordham University Founders Society • Moglia has received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and the Sharp Trophy for Leadership • He has been honored by the Columbus Citizens Foundation , the Irish Arts Center , the American Institute for Stuttering and the Stuttering Association for the Young .
A four-time NSCAA All-Region selection , earning First Team honors his last three seasons • Named 2011 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year • Earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors three straight years • 2012 Vincent T . Lombardi Award winner • Posted career-best numbers with an 11-6-1 record , a 0.65 goals against average , and an . 862 save percentage as a senior in 2012 • Also added ten shutouts , second best single season in school history , as a senior • His 0.65 goals against average as a senior is a Fordham single season record • Played all but eight minutes as a junior in 2010
• Posted a 10-8-0 record as a junior , a 0.81 goals against average , and an . 808 save percentage • His 0.81 goals against average was third best single season alltime in school history • His career goal against average of 0.87 is the best in school history • Set school career record with 31 shutouts • Drafted by the NY Red Bulls in 2012 currently on the team ’ s roster .
