In the fall , President Day visited the Visual & Performing Arts Department to select some student artwork for his office .
“ There were so many good ones ,” Day said of the collection of art that has amassed from former and current students . After some tough decisions , he walked away with a piece depicting the Prep ’ s iconic stained glass cross in the Chapel of St . Ignatius Loyola , a painting of a jazz musician playing the saxophone , Invader Zim fan art , and a painting of the New York City skyline .
Unfortunately , the paintings were not signed . However , we hope the alumni and current students who learn of these growing gallery walls know that their artwork is worthy of being framed and displayed in the President ’ s office . Day also had the pleasure of commissioning a graphite drawing of a ram from Joshua Nieto ’ 24 . He is still at work on the drawing while its placement in the Admin Center is being decided on .
