A MONTH OF GIVING AND GRATITUDE
November was a month of giving and gratitude at Fordham Prep . We are honored by the generosity of our community and their commitment to our students as well as our neighbors in the Bronx .

Great Ignatian Challenge
In conjunction with Hunger Awareness Month , the Prep joined together with 14 other Jesuit schools throughout the East Coast for the Great Ignatian Challenge . Our students collected nearly 65,000 pounds of food ( 68 pounds of food per student ) for local agencies , including P . O . T . S ., Concourse House , Mercy Center , and the Little Sisters of the Poor . That ’ s nearly 33 tons of food , which is the equivalent of 650 average-sized adult rams ! This year , the program expanded to include alumni , who were able to bring food items to designated locations hosted by Prep families , or purchase food for P . O . T . S . directly from their supplier online .

Turkey Bowl Challenge
On Thanksgiving Day , not only did the Prep defeat Xavier on the field , but for the first time since 2016 , the Prep won the Turkey Bowl Challenge , an annual contest with Xavier to see who can generate more Young Alumni donors before Thanksgiving Day . This was made possible thanks to the 438 donors who raised over $ 22,000 in support of financial aid , and other initiatives at the Prep .

Prep supporters generously gifted
$ 223,148 on # GivingTuesday .
On # GIVINGTUESDAY , a day when so many worthy charities and organizations ask for your support , we especially appreciate your loyalty and generosity to the Prep , and your interest in the get-out of JUG promotion ! 330 supporters made gifts totaling $ 223,148 , which successfully unlocked our alumni and parent match challenges in support of the Annual Fund and Scholarships .
Thank you — students , parents , alumni , grandparents , faculty , staff and friends — for your contributions and the kindness , caring and empathy you have shown to so many in our community in November . In the words of our co-chairs of the Great Ignatian Challenge , Marco Petit ’ 22 and JT Wolf ’ 22 , “[ we want to ] continue to be good neighbors here in the Bronx and take the lessons we learn at the Prep with us , as we graduate and move on to college and careers .”
